The national podcast network spoke with players and head coach Mark Pope, giving fans a rare behind-the-scenes look at the Wildcats just weeks before the season tips off.
One of the biggest themes of the afternoon was how different the program feels in year two under Pope. Guard Collin Chandler noted the smoother transition compared to last season, saying the team and staff are “locked in” without the distractions of an almost entirely new roster and coaching staff. Chandler also drew attention for his story about Kam Williams, who reportedly hit 10 straight threes during Monday’s practice.
Freshman Jasper Johnson discussed his offseason growth, sharing he’s up to 190 pounds after adding strength through Pope’s nutrition plan. Meanwhile, big man Brandon Garrison gave a lighter moment, opening up about fatherhood and his two-year-old son.
Point guard Jaland Lowe singled out Denzel Aberdeen as a breakout candidate, calling the former Florida guard’s recent play “incredible” and predicting a strong season ahead.
