Mid-Major Madness selected Robert Morris guard Kam Woods as the Men’s Mid-Major Player of the Week for Feb. 17-23 after leading the Colonials to back-to-back wins with a pair of almost triple-doubles.
Under head coach Andrew Toole, Robert Morris is having a historic season with a 22-8 record, which is already the program’s most wins since joining the Horizon League in 2020.
This past week, Woods and the Colonials secured a spot atop the conference’s standings with an 94-85 win over Green Bay in which Robert Morris scored 52 points in the second half to hold off the Phoenix.
Leading the way for the Colonials was Woods, contributing a double-double of 22 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists while committing just one turnover on the night.
Against stiffer competition in fourth-place Milwaukee, Woods put together another highly productive offensive outing to lift Robert Morris to a 72-59 win, the program’s sixth straight.
Here, Woods managed yet another double-double with 15 points, a career-high 11 assists and eight rebounds for an assist-to-turnover ratio of 6.67 on the week.
The victory tied Robert Morris’ program record for wins at home in a season with 15 as the Colonials hold a half-game lead on Cleveland State in the Horizon League’s Standings.
Woods and Co. will have a chance to officially earn the Horizon League regular-season title with a visit to ninth-place IU Indy on the docket this Thursday to close out the 2024-25 campaign.
