On Friday, new Texas A&M basketball coach Bucky McMillan gained his 13th commitment from the transfer portal, as Southern Illinois’s leading scorer during the 2024 season, senior guard Ali Dibba, is headed to College Station after the NCAA approved his waiver. Texas A&M’s 2025-2026 roster is loaded from a depth perspective, especially at guard with the addition of Dibba.

Last season, Dibba averaged 17.3 PPG, 4.8 REB, and 2 APG. Before that, he averaged 15.5 PPG, 4.6 REB, and 1.2 APG during his final season at Abilene Christian, proving that the impressive 2024 season was not a fluke. On paper, McMillan has now landed four of the top-scoring transfer guards, led by Creghton transfer Pop Issacs, who, paired with NC State transfer Marcus Hill, is expected to earn one of the five starting spots.

According to On3 Texas A&M insider Jaxson Callaway, Dibba was sought after by several top basketball programs, including Iowa, Villanova, Missouri, Vanderbilt, and others. After shooting nearly 50% from the field and 33% from beyond the arc, Dibba’s impressive athleticism and 6’5″ frame make him a perfect fit in McMillan’s system, which, given the guard depth, could result in Dibba becoming the team’s sixth-man shared with Jacari Lane.

While many college basketball analysts saw Texas A&M as a fringe NCAA Tournament team before Dibba’s commitment, it’s clear that if this roster finds a rhythm before SEC play, the Aggies should be one of the higher scoring teams in the country, giving them a chance against all 16 teams in the conference.

With a little less than three months away before the season begins, here is how the depth chart could look. Note: USC transfer forward Rashaun Agee’s eligibility is still in limbo at this time.
