Combo guard Mario Saint-Supery was listed on Spain’s 12-man roster for the 2025 EuroBasket even after suffering an injury in a friendly matchup against France in Paris, France, back on August 16th. The Gonzaga commit is officially a member of the senior national team and will make the trip to Limasol, Cyprus, to take on the country of Georgia on Thursday, August 28th, in their first game of bracket play.

Spain is in Group C with hosts Cyprus, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, and Greece.

Saint-Supery fell awkwardly on his right ankle after a floater and had to be helped off the floor by his Spanish teammates.

Malaga Today reported that the full extent of the injury is unknown at this time. How much playing time he will see in the FIBA international tournament is to be determined.

Gonzaga coach Mark Few told the Spokesman-Review’s Theo Lawson that he intends to play Saint-Supery in his freshman campaign. Few noted that he’s a true point guard, but is able to play off the ball thanks to his large stature. The top youth prospect from Spain has four years of college eligibility.

In other EuroBasket news, former Zag and Serbian forward Filip Petrusev, alongside three-time NBA Most Valuable Player Nikola Jokic, finished with two points to go along with four rebounds in 17 minutes during a friendly victory over Luka Doncic’s Slovenia in Belgrade, Serbia, on August 21st, 106-72.

Serbia is in Group A with hosts Latvia, Estonia, Portugal, Turkey, and the Czech Republic. Serbia opens up EuroBasket bracket play against Estonia in Riga, Latvia, on Wednesday, August 25th.
