Tyon Grant-Foster’s eligibility case was set for Thursday, October 23rd, at 3:30 p.m. PT in Spokane, but the NCAA filed a motion on Wednesday, October 22nd, requesting that the case be moved from state to a federal court.
The NCAA is sticking by its thought process that Grant-Foster’s eligibility expired because “he had the opportunity to play four seasons of his sport.” The federal court later rejected the NCAA’s effort to remove his case from state court.
Tyon Grant-Foster just wants to play; this whole shebacle from the NCAA is clearly affecting his headspace, mental health. He shared on Instagram his pleas to get back out on the basketball court in a competitive manner.
The new date for the court hearing in Spokane County Court by Judge Marla Polin will be next week, on October 27th at 2:30 p.m. PT. October 28th is the deadline to honor athletic scholarships for men’s basketball, which is pushing mighty close with this postponement of the case.
