The Virginia Tech Hokies and head coach Mike Young are looking to improve on a 2025-26 season that saw them miss out on the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight season.
To be fair to Young and the Hokies, their 19-13 record was the inverse of their 13-19 record from 2024-25. However, this program has never made it to a Final Four, and VT has made the tournament just six times since the turn of the century.
There’s a lot of work to do for Young and the Hokies, but they did pick up a transfer portal commitment who should improve their odds for 2026-27.
That commitment came from former Oklahoma State combo guard Jaylen Curry. Curry averaged 10.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game this past season for the Cowboys.
