LSU football head coach Lane Kiffin secured one of his biggest LSU recruiting wins to date on Saturday. Jaiden Bryant, the top-ranked defensive end in the 2027 class, committed to LSU. The pass rusher from South Carolina chose the Tigers over Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Miami.
Per Rivals, Bryant is the No. 11-ranked player in the class. Rivals, 247Sports, and ESPN rank Bryant as the No. 2 player in South Carolina for the 2027 recruiting cycle.

Rivals slots Bryant as the No. 1 EDGE in the nation. The 247Sports Composite Rankings place Bryant No. 5 at his position, but still give Bryant five stars.
LSU’s new defensive line coach, Sterling Lucas, played a big role in Bryant’s recruitment. Prior to joining LSU, Lucas built a strong relationship with Bryant when recruiting him to South Carolina. After the move to LSU, Lucas was able to close the deal.
Kiffin and LSU are planning to be aggressive in spending for talent — in the transfer portal and at the high school level.
LSU will spend the next few weeks focusing on the transfer portal, but once the transfer period is over, the Tigers will turn their full attention to building around Bryant in the 2027 class.
