Missouri’s 3-0 start is about all you can ask for. The Tigers look like a complete Top 25 team in the early stages of the season. Now, the only question is what will Mizzou look like against better competition? And that starts on Saturday with their SEC opener at home vs South Carolina.
The Gamecocks’ quarterback situation is up in the air with the unknown status of LaNorris Sellers – who left the game vs Vanderbilt with a concussion. Shane Beamer is optimistic about his availability for this week, however.
Elsewhere in the SEC from Week 3 – Texas A&M’s Marcel Reed came up clutch on the road in South Bend at Notre Dame and Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia has led the Commodores into the Top 25 with a 3-0 start. While Alabama lost their season-opener at Florida State, the Crimson Tide still have the talent to get things right, and quarterback Ty Simpson has dangerous receivers Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard to work with.
Mizzou is 3-0, but they’re not perfect by any means – and no team is at this point of the season. Even in the 42-31 win over kansas, Jayhawks quarterback Jalon Daniels made some big plays against the Tigers’ defensive secondary. That’s an area Missouri will need to improve on as they get ready to face some high-level SEC quarterbacks.
In this week’s SB Nation Reacts survey – we ask you this: Which SEC quarterback will present the toughest challenge for the Mizzou defense?
