Notre Dame football took another hit to its roster on Thursday evening, as a defensive lineman has opted to enter the portal over staying in South Bend according to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
Armel Mukam entered the program as a 4-star prospect out of Virginia, but really wasn’t able to make a mark in the three years that he saw the field for the Irish. He’ll end his career with 11 tackles and a forced fumble.

Mukam saw the field plenty this fall, and does have plenty of potential to be a difference maker, but it won’t happen with Notre Dame. As a redshirt sophomore, he’ll have two more seasons of eligibility.
As a native of Canada, Mukam could end up almost anywhere, as he looks for a bigger role. We wish Armel the best as the continues his football journey away from the Irish.
