Recruiting Roundup: Huskies Host A Massive Wave Of Recruits For Junior Day

Happy Sunday Husky fans. The Huskies had a monster weekend on the recruiting front when they hosted a huge wave of unofficial visitors for their annual junior day. With 9 months left until signing day the Huskies are in the thick of it for a lot of top end prospects. Here is a look at some of the top guys who made their way to campus (note: this isn’t doesn’t include everyone):

4 star quarterback Blake Roskopf from Desert Edge HS, AZ was one of the headliners in town this weekend. Roskopf, who is rated as the 12th best quarterback in the country, is a massive quarterback who is listed at 6’5” and 235 pounds. The Huskies are battling to try and move their way into the top schools for Roskopf. Right now it looks like Roskopf is looking heavily at North Carolina, UCLA, Oregon, Stanford, Arkansas, and Mississippi State. Right now only North Carolina has an official visit scheduled but I would expect more to be added in the coming weeks (including an official visit to UW).

At wide receiver the Huskies had three 4 star wideouts on campus who are currently uncommitted. Osani Gayles from IMG Academy was the headliner of the group. Gayles, who is rated as the 7th best wide receiver in the country holds offers from around the country and is looking heavily at USC, Tennessee, and Alabama. The Huskies are trying to push their way into the mix for the talented slot wide receiver and they would love to get an official visit from him. Dontay Tyson from Peoria HS, AZ was also in town to check out the program. Tyson, who is rated as rated as the 37th best wide receiver in the country, is very interested in UW but he is also looking at Arizona, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. Also in town was Ty Johnson from Crean Lutheran HS, CA. Johnson, who was offered last year during the Huskies summer camp, already has official visits scheduled to UCLA, and Arizona and the Huskies look good to potentially get an official visit from down the road.

At running back the Huskies had 4 star running back Jeremy Adeyanju from Sandra Day O’Connor HS, AZ. Adeyanju, who is a composite 4 star running back, is one of the top running backs on the west coast and a fast riser recently on the recruiting front. The Huskies are battling USC for him and the staff is hoping they can close him soon (he has an official visit schedule to UW in May).

5 star offensive lineman Oluwasemilore Olubobola from St Peter’s Prep HS, NJ was the highest rated 2027 prospect to attend Junior day. Olubobola, who is rated as the 2nd best offensive tackle in the country by 247sports, made the trek from the east coast after getting an offer in January for the Huskies. Listed at 6’6” and around 275 pounds Olubobola has an ideal frame for a tackle and most major programs around the country have already offered him. Getting him on an unofficial visit is no small feet and if the Huskies can get an official visit from him they will likely be in the thick of his recruitment.

Also in town along the offensive line were 3 star prospects Lincoln Mageo from Oceanside HS, CA, Reis Russell from Valor Christian HS, CO, DaJohn Yarborough from Basha HS, AZ, and Gecova Doyal from Puyallup HS, WA. All 4 of those offensive lineman are top targets for the Huskies and of the 4 I would say Russell is the most likely to commit soon to the Huskies (despite offers coming in from Georgia and Oregon recently). Mageo is a Husky lean but is also looking at UCLA and some other schools. The Huskies are doing very well with Yarborough (and have an official visit on the books), and Doyal is a must-get for the staff (he is also looking at Oregon). Right now the Huskies look like they could bring another solid class of offensive lineman and if they can add a few of these recruits they will really set themselves up well along the offensive line.

Along the defensive line the Huskies had a bunch of talented players in town (including the top edge in the 2028 class). The headliner in the 2027 class was probably 4 star edge Zane Rowe from Guyer HS, TX. Rowe, who is a top 100 prospect in the country, is set to announce his commitment on the 13th of March. The Huskies are battling Oregon, Oklahoma, and North Carolina. The Huskies look like they are in a pretty good spot right now for him but things change in recruiting very fast (we will see what happens on the 13th). 5 star 2028 edge Jalanie George from Desert Edge HS, AZ was also in town to check out the Huskies. George, who is rated as the 2nd best prospect in the 2028 class, is a massive target for almost every school and getting him on campus is a bigtime win for the Huskies who are hoping they can continue their success reeling in top players from the state of Arizona.

Along the interior of the defensive line the Huskies had a couple of 4 star prospects on campus. Jon Ioane from Tustin HS, CA is a top target for the Huskies and a player to monitor over the coming months. The Huskies are battling Cal, Penn State, and UCLA for Ioane who is rated as the 9th best defensive lineman in the country by 247ports. The top player in-state in the 2027 class was also on campus. Tevita Nonu from O’Dea HS headed over to Montlake to check out Junior Day. Rated as the 29th best defensive lineman in the country Nonu is looking at UW, Arizona, UCLA and a few other schools (the Huskies look like they are in a good spot right now for him).

At linebacker the Huskies had one of their top uncommitted targets on campus for junior day. 3 star linebacker Isaiah Leilua from Servite HS, CA made his way up to campus to check out the program. Leilua, who holds offers from a ton of schools but has narrowed his recruitment down to UW, ASU, and USC, looks like he close to committing to UW and I wouldn’t be shocked to see something come very soon from him.

4 star safety Gavin Williams from Damien HS, CA is one of the top safeties on the Huskies board and a massive target for UW. Williams, who is a top 100 player in the country by 247sports, is also looking at UCLA, Texas A&M, USC, and Notre Dame. The Huskies have been lurking in his recruitment for a while and getting him on campus is huge for their chances of reeling Williams in. The Huskies also had 4 star safety Malakai Taufoou from Junipero Serra HS, CA on campus this weekend. Taufoou, who is also one of the top safeties on the Huskies board, is another player that the Huskies look like they are in a good spot for but they are battling Penn State, and Cal for his commitment (the Huskies are set to get his last official visit which usually bodes well). Another 4 star safety that made his way up to campus was Isala Aisa Wily-Ava from St John Bosco HS, CA. Wily-Ava is considered a pretty heavy Husky lean and the Huskies have been recruiting him hard for a long time. Wily-Ava is one of the top safeties in the Trinity league and if the Huskies can reel him in they will have another big-time safety to throw at opposing B1G teams.

At cornerback the Huskies had a couple of 4 star players make their way up to Montlake. Censere Gaylord from IMG Academy made the long trek up to Seattle to check out the Huskies program. Gaylord, who is rated as the 13th best cornerback in the country by 247sports, holds a ton of offers from around the country. Originally from California, the Huskies are hoping they can bring Gaylord back to the west coast and reel him in. Also on campus was Josiah Molden from West Linn HS, OR. Molden, who is rated as the 28th best cornerback by 247sports, is looking heavily at Miami, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, and UW. Molden’s recruitment looks like it may come down to a battle between UW and Oregon (and right now it’s too early to tell who holds the edge in his recruitment).

It goes without saying that the Huskies brought some talented players on campus this weekend and the next few months should be fun for Husky recruiting fans. The Huskies also had most of their 2027 commits on campus as well to help them recruit some of their top uncommitted targets. I expect to see some more commits come in the coming days (keep an eye on Rowe, Leilua, Wily-Aisa, and Russell). That is all for today and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
