After leading the Texas Longhorns to the cusp of a national title in his final year in Austin, quarterback Quinn Ewers now heads to the NFL. But he has a lot of work to do to get into the good graces of NFL teams, who many see as an average quarterback prospect.
As Ewers tries to start his NFL career, he has the support of his longtime girlfriend, Mady Barnes. Born in Texas, Barnes attended the University of Oklahoma – Texas’ bitter arch-nemesis, where she joined the Chi Omega sorority, the American Marketing Association and worked as a campus ambassador.
Beyond that, Barnes keeps much of her personal life a secret.
Prior to Ewers going to the Combine in Indianapolis, he and Barnes celebrated their third year together.
“Year 3!!🩵⛷️🥂,” Barnes wrote on X.

The first time the two were seen together was on Barnes’ Instagram post on February 26, 2023. Though it remains a mystery to fans as to how they first met.

Ewers and Barnes seem to do everything together when Ewers isn’t focusing on his football career. From skiing in the cold to soaking up the rays on the beach, they can be inseparable at times.

Ewers’ final year in college was one for the ages as he led the SEC in touchdowns with 31 despite missing several games with an injury. He finished his career with a 65-percent completion rate, 68 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. On the ground, he wasn’t much of a rushing threat but still added another eight touchdowns.
But the interceptions might be the thing that separates Ewers from the elite prospects. He threw 12 of them in 2024, with the 12th coming in a Cotton Bowl loss to Ohio State. Ironically enough, Ewers started his career at Ohio State before transferring to Texas in 2022.
The good news for Ewers is that there are a lot of teams that need a quarterback and not many quarterbacks to choose from.
If there was ever a time to be a polarizing quarterback prospect looking to get drafted, this might be the year.
Where do you think Ewers will go?
