The New York Jets currently have the second overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Jets have a ton of needs, but the consistent pick if you’re a mock draft-watcher is edge-rusher.
New York is likely to miss out on Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who will likely go No. 1 overall. If not a quarterback, a pass-rusher brings the best value and the most impact in the top five of a draft, so it makes sense that many project the Jets to go in that direction.
Throw in the fact that head coach Aaron Glenn is a defensive-minded coach, and it’s almost guaranteed.
Many believe that Ohio State Buckeyes pass-rusher Arvell Reese will be New York’s selection at No. 2 overall, but an intriguing name has all of a sudden popped onto the radar at the 2026 NFL Draft Scouting Combine.
That would be Texas Tech Red Raiders pass-rusher David Bailey, who was recently mocked to the Jets by Bucky Brooks of NFL.com
