There were two huge surprises on Night 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft: The Jacksonville Jaguars trading up to draft Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders not getting drafted at all.
Those two players are likely to be forever tied at the hip for their accomplishments at the University of Colorado under head coach Deion Sanders. So it should be no surprise that Hunter was pulling for Shedeur even while giving his introductory press conference to the team.
As he was at the podium, he heard that the New Orleans Saints were on the clock. He quickly called for silence to hear who the team was going to draft. When he heard the name “Kelvin Banks Jr.” he spun back around in disappointment.
Everyone agrees that he was pulling for Shedeur to be drafted by the Saints.

In the hours since this clip went viral, fans have been praising him for continuing to show support for the quarterback who helped him get where he is today.
“That’s a real brother right there,” one user declared.
“that’s a good friend, man,” wrote another.
“This dude is always supportive and radiates positivity. I need me a Travis Hunter jersey. Jaguar fans – you got a gem!”
“The Jags just got pure gold with Travis. He is the real deal on and off the field.”
“Everyone needs a friend like Travis Hunter. He don’t have any jealousy or negativity in his heart for his boy. He just wants the best for Shedeur. I love that.”

Sanders and Hunters were teammates at both Colorado and Jackson State, building a rapport as a passing combination while Hunter played both wide receiver and cornerback.
Much like Coach Prime, the Jacksonville Jaguars plan on deploying Hunter at both sides of the ball. Whether he’ll be as effective doing so in the NFL as college remains to be seen.
But Shedeur finished the night without hearing his name called, which has thrown his draft status completely up in the air heading into Day 2 with rounds 2-3.
Sanders will most likely go to one of the QB-needy teams that passed on him in the first round. But falling like that may sting a bit.
