A former SEC quarterback is entering the transfer portal for the fifth time in his career. And no, we’re not kidding.

TJ Finley started his college career at LSU in 2020. He completed 57.1 percent of his passes for 941 yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions. That following spring, he announced that he was heading to Auburn.

In two years at Auburn, Finley had 1,258 passing yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions. Instead of staying in the SEC, he transferred to Texas State in 2023.

Finley shined during his only season at Texas State, completing 67.4 percent of his passes for 3,439 yards with 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions. His successful 2023 season inspired him to hit the transfer portal for a third time. This time around, he landed at Western Kentucky.

Clearly, Finley wasn’t willing to stay at Western Kentucky for long. He transferred to Tulane this past December. However, he was suspended indefinitely because he was arrested in connection to the robbery of a car.

Finley doesn’t plan on staying at Tulane for the duration of his suspension. According to On3’s Pete Nakos, the 23-year-old quarterback is entering the transfer portal yet again.

“Now, Finley will be looking to find his fifth college football program in six seasons,” On3’s report stated. “Technically, six if you could Tulane, which he never played a game for. Finley was suspended from the program indefinitely following his arrest earlier this month.”

Tulane has not yet commented on Finley’s plans to enter the transfer portal.

Despite bouncing around programs since 2020, Finley has two years of eligibility remaining.

It’ll be interesting to see where Finley ends up this offseason.
