The Texas Longhorns managed to land another top recruit on Friday, this time adding a talented high school prospect to the running back room. To make it even more impressive, head coach Steve Sarkisian managed to beat out both the Michigan Wolverines and the Oregon Ducks for the four-star rusher.
Reports indicate that Noah Roberts, who is based out of Chandler, Arizona, officially committed to Texas on Friday, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports and Rivals. Other schools in the mix outside of Michigan and Oregon included Arizona State, Ohio State, and Oklahoma.
“BREAKING: Four-Star RB Noah Roberts has Committed to Texas, he tells me for Rivals,” reported Fawcett. “The 6’0, 195 lbs RB from Chandler, AZ chose the Longhorns over Michigan, Oregon, and Arizona State.”
Roberts also shared a message with his Mimi and Uncle G upon committing to Texas, per Fawcett. Overall, the incoming freshman running back seems excited to be a part of the Longhorns’ program.
“Happy b-day, Mimi,” said Roberts. “Fly high, Uncle G. HOOK EEM!”
Noah Roberts currently attends Basha High School in Chandler, Arizona. It is currently the No. 1-ranked football school in the state, while also being the No. 13-ranked school in the nation. Texas seems to have landed a good one, as Roberts seems to already be comfortable playing in a highly competitive environment.
This is the Longhorns’ fifth four-star athlete to commit in the 2027 class. It’s still early in the offseason, and Texas will likely remain busy throughout the summer trying to acquire as much top talent as possible.
