With transfer season already in full swing in the college basketball world, Oklahoma State has landed a visit from BYU’s Amari Whiting, according to GoPokes247.

Whiting, a sophomore, averaged 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and two steals per game. This comes days after Amari’s mother, Amber, was let go as the head coach at BYU.

Oklahoma State is in the middle of one of its best seasons in recent women’s basketball history. The Cowgirls are 25-6 overall and 14-4 in the Big 12 under Jacie Hoyt. This is the best season for the Cowgirls since 2013-14 when they went 25-9 and reached the Sweet 16.

Meantime, the BYU Cougars finished 14th in the Big 12 this season with a 13-17 overall record and a 4-14 mark in conference play. This is BYU’s second season in the Big 12 after transitioning from the WCC.

Amber Whiting has been the head coach at BYU for the past three seasons. During her three seasons as the head coach, Whiting has posted a record of 45-51 with all three seasons coming with losing records. This past season, Whiting’s BYU team was 13-17 with a 4-14 record in the Big 12.

Oklahoma State will await its seeding in the NCAA Tournament. The 2025 NCAA DI Women’s Basketball March Madness bracket will be revealed during the Selection Show on Sunday, March 16, at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.
