The Colorado football team is hoping to bounce back in 2026, after a disappointing 2025 season. Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is getting some big pickups on the recruiting trail. On Sunday, Sanders got the pledge of a four-star offensive lineman.

“Four-Star OT Li’Marcus Jones has Committed to Colorado, he tells me for Rivals,” Rivals reporter Hayes Fawcett posted to X, formerly Twitter.

Jones had offers from several power 4 programs, including Georgia, Purdue and Mississippi State.

“Colorado felt like the place where I could become the best version of myself,” Jones said.

Jones is a member of the 2027 recruiting class. He said his college decision was a very difficult one to make, but his visit to Boulder made a huge difference for him.

“It was very close,” Jones said to the outlet. “Once I narrowed it down to my final three, they were all coming at me hard. Purdue was leading earlier after my official visit there, but after I visited Colorado, things started to change.

“Colorado just felt different when I was out there. The connections I built with the coaching staff were real, and I could truly see myself fitting into the culture and the system.”

The offensive lineman was very moved after meeting Coach Sanders for the first time.

“One of the biggest moments on the visit was my time with Coach Prime. He wasn’t as Hollywood as people say. Coach Prime was really laid back and he kept it real. He didn’t sugarcoat anything. That made an impact on my decision,” he added.

Colorado finished the 2025 season missing a bowl game, and winning just three total games. The Buffaloes have big expectations for 2026.

Colorado football opens the 2026 season with a game against Georgia Tech on September 3.
