The Kansas State Wildcats have a new leader for their men’s basketball program, as Casey Alexander has officially arrived in Manhattan to take over as the program’s next head coach. After a successful run at Belmont, Alexander now steps into one of the most competitive conferences in college basketball with the task of guiding Kansas State into its next era.
Alexander brings with him a reputation for building disciplined, high-scoring teams and developing players. During his time at Belmont, he helped keep the Bruins among the most consistent mid-major programs in the country, regularly competing for conference championships and earning multiple NCAA Tournament appearances. His teams were known for efficient offense, strong guard play, and a culture built around accountability and development.
For Kansas State, the hire represents a fresh start following a period of transition for the Wildcats. The program has shown flashes of success in recent seasons but now turns to Alexander to provide stability and long-term momentum in a conference that continues to get deeper and more competitive every year.
Alexander’s coaching journey has steadily prepared him for this opportunity. Before his time at Belmont, he spent six seasons as the head coach at Lipscomb, where he led the Bisons to one of the most successful stretches in program history. In 2019, Lipscomb reached the NIT Championship Game, further cementing Alexander’s reputation as a rising name in the coaching profession.
Now in Manhattan, Alexander inherits a program with a passionate fan base, a strong basketball tradition, and a home-court advantage at Bramlage Coliseum that has long been one of the toughest environments in the Big 12. The challenge will be navigating a league that routinely sends multiple teams deep into March and features some of the top coaches in the sport.
Still, Alexander arrives with optimism and a clear vision for the Wildcats. His ability to develop players, recruit talent, and build cohesive teams will be critical as Kansas State looks to reestablish itself as a consistent contender in the Big 12.
The next chapter of Kansas State basketball has officially begun, and all eyes will be on how Alexander begins shaping the Wildcats’ future in Manhattan.
