You can send presidents of universities, athletic administrators, boosters, fellow coaches, or otherwise to a desired coaching hire’s home, but clearly, in the case of newly re-hired Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp, it was family that sealed the deal on his contract to return to for another Austin tenure.

In speaking with media last week, Muschamp told a story of a conversation with his family.

“I asked my wife, Carol, I said, ‘Coach Sarkisian just called, ‘Thought about going back to Texas?’ She said, ‘I’ll go tomorrow,’” Muschamp told the media on Thursday. “My oldest son, Jackson, said, ‘Dad, there’s only one Texas, you’ve got to do this.,’” Muschamp recalled, according to KVUE.

Wise folk, in our opinion. Beats living in Athens, Georgia, at the very least.
