Longhorns Daily News: Texas football’s spring game will return next month

Texas Longhorns athletic director Chris Del Conte announced about a month back that the Longhorns intend to bring back their formerly annual spring football game, which was canceled due to alleged tampering activities related to recruiting players. Texas’ decision last spring mirrored dozens of other top national programs, as they, too, went without one of the sport’s postseason quirks. However, the decision to reboot the spring game this year comes after a second NCAA Transfer Portal window taking place after most spring games was canceled once word got out that college coaches were using programs’ games as a means of scouting other teams’ players.
