The Ohio State Buckeyes have a few tough games on their 2025 schedule as they work to retain their national championship. But while the games may not look so daunting, Ohio State’s athletic director still has a fairly big complaint about the schedule.
Speaking to reporters this week, Ohio State AD Ross Bjork lamented the lack of “marquee night games” on the schedule this year. He believes that Ohio State has too many noon games this year.
“Our fans deserve some marquee night games,” Bjork said, via Spencer Holbrook. “We have carried the day for Big Noon.”

By far the biggest complaint fans have had about the schedule this year is the Ohio State-Texas game being scheduled for noon on August 30. A game that’s a rematch of last season’s Cotton Bowl definitely deserves to be played in primetime.
Compound that with The Game against Michigan also being played at noon and there really aren’t many night games that are truly worthy of primetime. And few if any are going to get the primetime treatment other than maybe their game against Penn State on November 1.

The option was reportedly on the table for Texas to play Ohio State at night, but the Longhorns decided to decline it. Bjork has said that he doesn’t hold it against Texs for doing that, but believes that changes will come in the future.
“Going forward, Bjork wants the TV contracts to have more flexibility, noting OSU has ‘carried the day’ for Big Noon,” Ohio State insider Dan Hope wrote on X.
In the meantime, Ohio State may have to just bear it for the time being.
