Ole Miss football managed to maintain its aggressive recruiting methods post Lane Kiffin. The Rebels landed a new four-star talent under head coach Pete Goulding. This one an edge rusher who turns down Georgia and Michigan: Marvin Nguestop.
The towering 6-foot-7, 275-pounder rose as the newest College Football Recruiting win Saturday. He also shared a “let’s get to work” message with two shark emojis in announcing his decision via Hayes Fawcett of On3/Rivals.
Nguestop rises as a rare Northern east coast find for the Southeastern Conference power, starring for St. Thomas More in Connecticut. He’s also a native of Germany while adding to Steve Wiltfong of On3/Rivals that Ole Miss recruited him the hardest.
“They are a top SEC program, top program in the nation and I just wanna be a part of that,” Nguestop told Wiltfong.
Edge rusher coach Randall Joyner ran point on Nguestop’s recruitment. Fellow assistant Mike Stoops also pitched in to reel in the power conference talent.
Once again Ole Miss beats out SEC rival Georgia for the defender. The same Bulldogs team Ole Miss eliminated in the College Football Playoffs to advance into the semifinals round. Goulding helped coach the Rebs to that victory over the Bulldogs, helping him seal his head coaching status for 2026.
The Rebels beat other powers to land Ngustop: Fellow SEC rival Tennessee plus Ohio State from the Big Ten. He’s Connecticut’s No. 2 overall prospect for the 2027 class.
But again, Ole Miss wins this recruit after Kiffin’s much debated departure from Oxford.
