The Southeastern Conference released the appearance schedule for the 2026 edition of SEC Media Days on Wednesday, and the Oklahoma Sooners won’t have to wait long to grab the mic for “talking season”.
SEC Media Days 2026 runs from July 20-23, in Tampa, Florida, and will hosted at the Tampa Marriott Water Street and JW Marriott. OU and head coach Brent Venables will appear on Day 1 of the event, July 20th. Also appearing on Day 1 are Will Stein and Kentucky, Eliah Drinkwitz and Missouri, and Josh Heupel and Tennessee.

The year will mark the third time that the Sooners have attended SEC Media Days, with the event in Dallas in 2024 and in Atlanta last year.
Oklahoma will open the 2026 regular season on September 5th at home against UTEP, and the Sooners will also be bringing back the annual spring game this year, which will be held on April 18th.
Venables’ Sooners impressed last year with a 10-3 record and a trip to the College Football Playoff, after going just 6-7 in the program’s inaugural SEC season. Now, Venables heads into Year 5 at the helm with key returners like quarterback John Mateer, wide receiver Isaiah Sategna III, and linebacker Kip Lewis back to try and chase another spot in the CFP this year.
