TEMPE, Ariz. — Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon was vague Friday when addressing the health of quarterback Kyler Murray and his status for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

When asked how Murray’s foot injury, which kept him out of last weekend’s game at the Indianapolis Colts, has been progressing this week, Gannon responded: “Good. Good. He’s doing well.”

The coach was asked what he’s looking for from Murray over the next couple of days to decide whether he can play, and Gannon said: “Same.”

It was unclear what he meant.

And when he was asked whether he envisions knowing Saturday night — as he said he did last week — or Sunday morning whether Murray will play, Gannon answered: “See how it goes.”

Murray’s status didn’t get any clearer as the day went on. He was at practice and threw with practice squad receivers, and he was listed as questionable when the injury report came out in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who exited against the Colts in the second quarter with a concussion, wasn’t wearing the yellow noncontact jersey during Friday’s practice and didn’t have an injury designation when the injury report came out, meaning he is cleared to play Sunday.

Gannon announced that running back Emari Demercado, who left this past Sunday’s game with an ankle injury, will not play against the Packers and that first-round pick Walter Nolen III, who had his 21-day practice window opened this week after spending training camp and the first six weeks of the season on the physically unable to perform list, will not be activated for Sunday.

The Cardinals are off to a 2-4 start after losing their past four games.
