The Philadelphia Eagles sit atop the NFC East, yet their path has been anything but straightforward. Much of the scrutiny has centered on quarterback Jalen Hurts, who faces criticism from various angles, including some within the organization.
Despite the pressure, Hurts maintains composure and appears unfazed by external noise. Former defensive end Chris Canty believes the Eagles’ concerns about Hurts go beyond surface-level frustration. He suggested the franchise itself harbors doubts about its signal-caller’s standing within the system.
“Jalen Hurts is a top-five quarterback, in my eyes. I don’t know if the Philadelphia Eagles view him that way,” Canty said on the Unsportmanlike Radio.

Hurts has delivered strong individual numbers through the first part of the season. He has completed 66.9 percent of his passes while throwing 16 touchdowns against just one interception, the best ratio in the NFL.
His 107 quarterback rating ranks fifth league-wide, behind Lamar Jackson, Drake Maye, Matthew Stafford, and Jared Goff. The Eagles quarterback carries a 54-22 regular-season career record.
The offense’s overall production tells a different story. Philadelphia ranks 25th in total yards at 300.1 per game and 28th in passing yards with 184.9 per contest.
Third-down conversions sit at 33.9 percent, ranking 29th. The rushing game has declined significantly to 115.2 yards per game from 179.3 last season.
Yet the Eagles lead the league in red-zone efficiency at 75 percent and have turned the ball over only four times, driving their 8-2 record. The defensive efficiency and turnover management have masked offensive limitations.
Uncertainty still hangs over the defending Super Bowl champs, even with a winning record in their pocket. And as social media keeps stirring the pot, fans can’t seem to agree on anything while analysts keep pushing for flawless football.
Meanwhile, a few frustrated voices in the locker room only add fuel to the chatter. Altogether, it paints a shaky picture, even though the standings suggest things aren’t nearly as chaotic as they sound.
