Ravens GM Expects Veteran TE To Stay With Team

The Baltimore Ravens came up short again in the 2025 NFL Playoffs despite having a loaded roster on both sides of the field, calling into question what they could do to improve their roster ahead of the 2025 NFL season.

The Ravens didn’t have many needs heading into the 2025 NFL Draft, though they still came away with some quality prospects like Malaki Starks, Mike Green, and Emery Jones Jr.

For years, Baltimore’s strength on the offensive end has been their running back and tight end rooms, which have been headlined by stars like Mark Andrews.

Andrews has been one of the steadiest and most consistent players at the tight end position, though he started to show signs of decline during the 2024 NFL campaign.

The veteran started to take more of a backseat offensively, and there were even trade murmurs this offseason.

However, Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said he expects the team to keep Andrews.

“At this point, I really expect Mark to be on this team,” DeCosta said. “Great player. Love him. Competitive, tough, playmaker. I would expect him to be on the team.”

While Andrews is far from his physical prime, he can still contribute as a pass catcher and blocker.

Isaiah Likely seems set to take over for Andrews at some point, as the younger tight end is more electric as a pass catcher, though for now, the two will likely split duties.

Keeping Andrews for one more year isn’t the worst thing, though it remains to be seen how much more he can contribute.
