Sources – TE Mike Gesicki re-signing with Bengals on 3-year deal

Tight end Mike Gesicki is re-signing with the Cincinnati Bengals after the two sides agreed to a three-year, $25.5 million deal, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Saturday. The deal includes $12 million in Year 1.

Gesicki, 29, is the latest tight end to flip a season with the Bengals into a more substantial payday the following offseason.

Last offseason, the former Penn State player signed a one-year deal with the Bengals after spending the 2023 season with the New England Patriots. With Joe Burrow at quarterback and alongside receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, Gesicki turned in one of the best seasons of his seven-year career.

He finished with 65 catches for 665 yards, both totals that trailed only his 2021 season with the Miami Dolphins (73 receptions, 780 yards). Gesicki also had two touchdowns and 38 catches that were first downs.

By the end of the season, Burrow spoke highly of Gesicki and eventually included him in the tier of free agents Cincinnati should strongly consider re-signing in 2025.

Gesicki served as the primary pass-catching tight end in Cincinnati, with Drew Sample considered the team’s run-blocking tight end. Burrow has not had the same player in that role since 2021, which was C.J. Uzomah’s final year with the Bengals.

Gesicki has 325 receptions for 3,526 yards and 22 touchdowns in his career.

ESPN’s Ben Baby contributed to this report.
