Stats Show How Dominant Creed Humphrey Was In 2024

For years, NFL fans and analysts have gushed about the Kansas City Chiefs.

They’ve often been penciled in as the team with the best quarterback, head coach, and tight end, or at least some of the best.

However, Creed Humphrey cannot be overlooked.

As pointed out by PFF, the Chiefs’ center has been on a tier of his own since he entered the league.

Last season alone, he was almost five points better than every other center in the NFL:

“He’s the best center in football, and it’s not even close,” Dalton Wasserman noted.

The highest-graded center last season:

Ironically, the Chiefs’ offensive line has been one of the weakest links on the team.

Blindside protection has been a massive issue for most of the Patrick Mahomes era, and not even moving star guard Joe Thuney to left tackle in the Super Bowl was enough to keep the Philadelphia Eagles from wreaking havoc in the trenches.

Even so, Humphrey has been absolutely spectacular since entering the league, which is why the Chiefs didn’t hesitate to make him the highest-paid center in NFL history when they gave him a four-year contract extension last offseason.

Humphrey cracked ESPN’s top-100 rankings for the first time this preseason, landing the No. 93 spot.

That seems to be a little too low for a player of his caliber.

Still, that’s just what happens with most of the players at the position.

Center might not be the flashiest or sexiest position, but winning teams are built to win in the trenches, and with Jason Kelce retired, no one stands close to Humphrey in that regard.
