Travis Hunter Has A Request For Roger Goodell On Draft Day

Travis Hunter has spent the past three years decimating the opposition as a two-way college football player.

As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, many in the media expect the receiver/cornerback from Colorado to be one of the top five players selected.

The event comes on the heels of Hunter’s Heisman Trophy 2024 season in which he wowed fans across the country with 92 catches for 1,152 yards and 15 combined scores on offense and 32 combined tackles, one tackle for a loss, and four interceptions for 65 return yards on defense.

There is no shortage of teams that are clamoring for Hunter’s services and he’s been projected as high as two overall to the Cleveland Browns and nearly every other franchise within the top ten.

Most recently, Hunter told NFL teams during February’s Combine that he wants to play on both sides of the ball at the next level.

Then, during Colorado’s Pro Day this past week, scouts and pro personnel were on hand to watch Hunter catch passes from his Buffaloes teammate Shedeur Sanders, another likely first-round selection.

In anticipation of his name being called shortly after the draft begins on April 24th, Hunter had a message for NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

During a recent interview, shown by the NFL on CBS, Hunter made it clear that he wants Goodell to say “wide receiver and DB,” when the commish announces his name during the event.

Furthermore, Hunter made it clear he does not want to be labeled “athlete.”

Since Hunter’s coach and mentor, Deion Sanders, is a former pro player enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, it’s very likely that Goodell will honor Hunter’s request.
