Jason Robertson focusing on the offseason now and not what’s next
Lia Assimakopoulos: After signing a one-year, $12 million deal, Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson, when asked if he thinks he’ll be with the Stars for a long time:
“I’m just happy to start the season in Dallas right now. I was pretty much planning to. They had my rights. Now I can focus on this season and have a good summer.”
The Philadelphia Flyers would be interested in some Seattle Kraken and Ottawa Senators players
Anthony Di Marco of Daily Faceoff: (mailbag) If the Seattle Kraken were to make defenseman Vince Dunn available, one year left at $7 million, the Philadelphia Flyers would definitely be interested. The Kraken though are trying to compete and he’s likely not available for the time being. The Kraken are looking to move Shane Wright, but it doesn’t seem like anyone else. The Flyers would be interested in Matty Beniers too, if made available.
NHL Rumors: Are the Nashville Predators Done Making Moves?
The Ottawa Senators don’t appear to be interested in moving any of their centers – Dylan Cozens, Shane Pinto, or Ridly Greig. They’re looking for a scoring winger and a top-four, right-handed defenseman. Flyers’ Rasmus Ristolainen has interested the Senators in the past. They seem like perfect trade partners, but sources say that Sens GM Steve Staois refuses to talk about his centermen.
The Anaheim Ducks have three players they could look to move this offseason – Chris Kreider ($6.5 million AAV), Alex Killorn ($6.25 million AAV) and Frank Vatrano ($4.57 million AAV). Dylan Larkin remains a trade candidate, but the Detroit Red Wings don’t have a GM.
Alex Ovechkin had been worried there wasn’t enough room for him
Sammi Silber of The Hockey News: Alex Ovechkin saw the Washington Capitals trade for Jordan Kyrou and sign Alex Tuch to his big contract, and then sign Boone Jenner, Vincent Desharnais and Justin Holl. Ovechkin started to get a bit nervous about whether there was going to be room for him
“I was worried. ‘What if they didn’t offer me (a contract)?’” Ovechkin recalled. “I was worried there wouldn’t be enough cap space to sign me.”
