The Nick Kyrgios comeback tour will travel through Brisbane.

Kyrgios, who has been busy on the exhibition circuit this month, has been given a wild card to play next month’s Brisbane International.

The 2018 Brisbane champion Kyrgios joins defending champion Jiri Lehecka, former world No.1 Daniil Medvedev, Tommy Paul, Frances Tiafoe, Grigor Dimitrov, Joao Fonseca and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the Brisbane field.

Former Wimbledon finalist Kyrgios will reprise his doubles partnership with buddy Thanasi Kokkinakis in Brisbane doubles. The pair, nicknamed “Special Ks”, won the 2022 Australian Open doubles crown and will play doubles in the Brisbane field.

The Brisbane International is set for January 4-11th. On Sunday, January 11th, the men’s final, women’s final and men’s doubles final will all be contested.

The 30-year-old Kyrgios had already signed on to play the 2026 Kooyong Classic set for January 13-15th.

The post-Christmas season will be a busy one on court for Kyrgios.

The Battle of the Sexes clash between two-time US Open champion Aryna Sabalenka and former Wimbledon finalist Kyrgios is set for December 28th at the Coca Cola Arena in Dubai.

Kyrgios said he wants to see tennis establish more rivalry and “more quackery” and believes this showdown can attract even more interest to the sport.

“Tennis needs more rivalries. Tennis needs more quackery, like the NBA in the 90s,” Kyrgios said. “You can’t please everyone.

“I’m not friends with many players and I’m not interested in being one.”
