Yikes.
Yesterday, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight Sedriques Dumas received the bad news that he will not be competing on the biggest UFC pay-per-view (PPV) of the year inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas this weekend (Sat., June 28, 2025) and has been replaced by a UFC newcomer.
We now know why he had to be pulled from UFC 317—his ankle monitor.
Octagon Update was the first to let everyone know yesterday.
“I’m told that the reason Sedriques Dumas had to pull out was that the earliest he could get the ankle monitor off and in front of a judge would be by Thursday, which would be too late,” they wrote on X.
MMA Junkie accessed Escambia County, Florida, court records, revealing that Dumas’ movement was restricted to a 100-mile radius.
“Escambia County (Fla.) court records show Dumas’ attorney filed a motion Monday to modify Dumas’ bond agreement. It’s unclear what those requested changes are, but the initial terms limited him to a 100-mile radius of his residence while he partook in GPS monitoring.”
“The Reaper” was arrested in late April for five separate charges, including felony home invasion robbery without a firearm, misdemeanor battery, felony possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, felony possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and misdemeanor drug equipment possession.
Dumas holds a 3-3 record in the UFC and is coming off a first-round stoppage loss to Michal Oleksiejczuk at UFC 314 (watch highlights).
