Cristiano Ronaldo was on the scoresheet once again for Al-Nassr as they defeated Saudi Pro League title rivals Al-Ahli 2-0.
The 41-year-old’s header in the 76th minute broke the deadlock at Al-Awwal Park, moving Al-Nassr eight points clear of second-place Al-Hilal and 13 clear of Al-Ahli in third, though the chasing teams both have a game in hand.
Merih Demiral went close to giving Al-Ahli the lead in the 13th minute, but his header was tipped around the post by Bento, who was not tested by Galeno’s long shot moments later.
Al-Ahli did have the ball in the back of the net early in the second half through Riyad Mahrez, though that was quickly ruled out for offside, while Joao Felix missed a golden opportunity at the other end as his first-time shot flew over the bar.
The Portuguese forward’s in-swinging free-kick in the 68th minute then evaded the reach of Ronaldo and Mohamed Simakan, but the hosts managed to find the winner soon after.
Joao Felix was on set-piece duty again, but this time his cross was expertly flicked into the far corner by Ronaldo, despite there being an Al-Ahli player on the line, and Jorge Jesus’ side managed to get over the line with little trouble.
Kingsley Coman then added a second in the 90th minute, lashing past Edouard Mendy at the near post after a brilliant ball in behind from Aiman Yahya to wrap up the victory.

Data Debrief: Defence wins championships
It was a cagey affair, to say the least, as Al-Nassr produced just 0.54 expected goals (xG) from seven shots to Al-Ahli’s 0.11 from four attempts, with the home side’s defence laying the foundation for another crucial win.
Al‑Nassr have now kept 17 clean sheets in the Pro League this season, their highest tally in a single campaign. They have also kept eight home clean sheets, which is also their best in a single season in the competition.
Joao Felix’s attacking persistence was also key to victory, with the former Chelsea man creating the most chances in the match (three), registering the second-most shots (two) and attempting the most dribbles for his side (four).
