The Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao rematch is now set for Friday, September 25 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, according to FightHype, which posted additional details on social media following its earlier “done deal” report.
FightHype reported the bout will be contested at a catchweight of either 152 or 153 pounds and will be subject to random blood and urine testing administered by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA). Pacquiao will wear Reyes gloves; Mayweather’s glove brand has not yet been determined.

FightHype cited Netflix’s Friday-night viewership performance and T-Mobile Arena’s larger seating capacity as the drivers behind the late date and venue change. Netflix carried two of 2025’s most-watched boxing cards on Friday nights, Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano III and Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul. The streamer is expected to carry Mayweather-Pacquiao 2 globally without an additional pay-per-view charge.
Catchweight and Drug Testing
The 152 or 153-pound catchweight sits above the 147-pound welterweight limit at which the original 2015 fight was contested. Pacquiao, 47, fought Mario Barrios at the welterweight limit in July 2025. Mayweather, 49, last competed professionally in 2017 at 154 pounds against Conor McGregor.
VADA testing was a central condition of the original 2015 negotiation and is again a stipulated component of the rematch, per FightHype. The agency administers year-round random blood and urine collection in addition to fight-camp testing.

Background
Netflix announced the rematch on February 23 for September 19 at the Sphere. The promotion hit turbulence in late March, when Mayweather publicly said the bout would be an exhibition that would not count against his 50-0 record. Pacquiao’s camp, led by CEO Jas Mathur, alleged a breach of contract and issued a deadline for clarification. By mid-April, Mayweather had conceded the fight would proceed as a sanctioned professional bout under the original terms, exposing his record to a first career loss.
The Sphere was subsequently dropped due to logistical and casino-hospitality considerations. MGM Grand was initially identified as the replacement before the move to T-Mobile Arena, which is also operated by MGM.

Mayweather last fought professionally in August 2017, stopping McGregor in 10 rounds at T-Mobile Arena. He has competed in several exhibitions since.
