The Toronto Raptors are keeping their stable of prospect guards full heading into next season.
And according to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto on Thursday, Hepburn intends to sign the two-way offer and return to the Raptors organization.
The pair saw limited time in the NBA, combining for just 25 appearances with the big club, of which 23 were accounted for by Martin. But both were integral cogs for the Raptors 905, Toronto’s G League affiliate.
Hepburn, an undrafted rookie, averaged 12.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, 8.6 assists (third in the G League) and 2.4 steals (fifth) through 18 games. His season was cut short, however, as he underwent surgery in January to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.
As for Martin, last year’s 39th-overall pick, he averaged 18.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 39.2 per cent from beyond the arc through 30 G League appearances. The 24-year-old carried the load without Hepburn and was subsequently rewarded with individual accolades. Martin was selected to the All-NBA G League Rookie Team, All-NBA G League Defensive Team and the All-NBA G League third team.
The backcourt duo led the Raptors 905 to a record-setting 16-0 start during the Tip-Off Tournament portion of the G League schedule, and then helped the development squad make a return to the playoffs for the first time since 2022 with a 23-13 regular-season record.
