NFL Reporter Ripped For 'Shameless' Tweet About Shedeur Sanders

Just four days away from the NFL Combine, it sounds like Shedeur Sanders is going to pass on throwing in front of scouts in Indianapolis.

According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Colorado’s Unitas Award winner will instead choose to focus on the other aspects of the four-day event. But the way he worded it seemed to rub some fans the wrong way.

“#Colorado QB and potential top pick Shedeur Sanders plans to focus on his interviews with teams at the NFL Scouting Combine, helping them continue to learn him as a person,” Rapoport posted to X.

“He’ll allow his four years of film to speak loudly, then throw at his Pro Day with four draftable CU WRs.”

“This is absolutely shameless PR work from an alleged journalist,” a user claimed.

“So who wrote this tweet word for word…his agent or Prime?” another asked.

“Such a weird way to spin that he won’t be working out or throwing at the combine,” a fan said. “What does ‘learn him as a person’ even mean?”

“Shedeur Sanders has impressed teams with his presence, poise and intelligence off the field and that should continue in Indy,” Rapoport added.

“‘Speak loudly’ … Interesting agent speak.”

“One of the funnier agent(ish) copy-paste tweets in a while,” another person commented.

“That last part was copy and paste if we wanna be honest lol,” another user laughed.

“That’s a very verbose way of saying he’s not going to do drills at the combine.”

It’s pretty commonplace for a lot of quarterback prospects to elect to throw at the controlled environment of their Pro Day rather than the Combine. Which is understandable the way every move is picked apart.

Sanders is expected to be one of the first names of the board come April — with many slotting him to the Cleveland Browns at pick No. 2.
