For one of the final times this season, the Atlanta Braves have made another roster move. This time, the club claimed right-hander Alek Manoah off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays before optioning him. To make space on the roster, the club then transferred Ozzie Albies to the 60-day injured list.
27-year-old Manoah owns a career 3.34 ERA. He was a Cy Young finalist in 2022, but since that season, his time in the majors has decreased significantly.
Cleveland Guardians left-hander Sam Hentges underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee and will require 3-4 months of recovery time. He was already out for the entire 2025 campaign due to a previous shoulder surgery.
