This evening, the Atlanta Braves announced that Banana Ball is returning to Truist Park in 2026. Games will be played from May 8th through May 10th.
Started by the Savannah Bananas, the barnstorming league will expand to a six-team league for 2026. Known as Banana Ball, they place an emphasis on entertainment value and fan engagement with rules such as if a fan catches a foul ball in the air, the batter is out.
The league has played large venues across the country, including drawing more than 80,000 fans in football stadiums.
While it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, they have been expanding their profile with regular appearances by former big league stars and having national broadcasting deals.
Currently made up of four teams, the Bananas, the Party Animals, the Firefighters and the Texas Tailgaters, the league announced to additional teams for 2026. The new teams are the Loco Beach Coconuts and the return of the legendary Indianapolis Clowns.
