Kyle Teel‘s leadoff home run turned out to be the high point of a dour day on the farm. The Knights, Dash, and Cannon Ballers all fell, while rain postponed the Barons and Caleb Bonemer‘s AA debut.
Among the sparse highlights, Michael Turner, Nolan Jones, and Kaleb Freeman all went deep, while the DSL White Sox rapped out 12 hits in a narrow win.
All this and more in today’s farm report!
Triple-A Charlotte Knights (38-32)
Kyle Teel opened his rehab stint with a home run, the second time this year the catcher has homered in his first rehab game. It wasn’t enough for the Knights on Tuesday, as they fell 9-5 to the Buffalo Bisons. Nolan Jones went deep for the first time with Charlotte, and Michael Turner slugged a home run of his own in the loss. All five of the Knights’ runs came via the trio of homers.
Noah Schultz struggled in his first rehab outing. The lanky lefty surrendered two runs and walked three over just 1.2 innings on the mound. Four of the five outs he recorded came via the strikeout.

The Dash played the North Division-leading Greensboro Grasshoppers close through seven innings before ultimately falling 4-1 in the series opener. Kaleb Freeman launched his sixth homer of the season to tie the game at 1 in the fourth, but that was the only run that Winston-Salem got.

Among the Ballers’ six hits, Jurdrick Profar laced his first double with the Ballers. The infielder looks comfortable after making the jump from the Arizona Complex League, and is 3-for-7 (.429) at the plate across his first two games with Kannapolis.
