Sox affiliates put Tuesday’s gloom behind them on Wednesday as every team picked up a midweek win. Pitching shone on the day, with the Knights and Cannon Ballers each holding their opponents to one run, and Riley Eikhoff twirling seven innings of two-run ball for the Dash.

Meanwhile, Caleb Bonemer picked up his first AA hit, RBI, and walk, Kyle Teel notched another rehab knock, and both the Barons and Dash used big innings to come back late in wins.

All this and more in today’s farm report!

Triple-A Charlotte Knights (39-32)

The Knights used a four-run second inning en route to a 5-1 win over the Buffalo Bisons on Wednesday. Andy Weber drilled his first homer with Charlotte, a three-run shot to put the Knights ahead 4-0. Ryan Galanie tacked on another run with a homer of his own in the sixth.

On the mound, five pitchers combined to hold the Bisons to one run on six hits. Duncan Davitt and Garrett Schoenle combined for five scoreless innings out of the bullpen, while recently signed reliever Javy Guerra struck out three of the four batters that he faced to close out the win.

Double-A Birmingham Barons (25-40)

The Barons split their doubleheader against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. In game one, the Barons jumped out to an early lead on an Alec Briley solo home run, but fell 6-4 in the seven-inning affair. Dylan Campbell, acquired in the Derek Hill trade, picked up his third extra-base hit with the Barons in the form of a double.

Birmingham got back on track in game two with a 6-3 win. Caleb Bonemer notched his first AA hit with a third-inning single, and his first AA RBI with a seventh-inning bases-loaded walk. Trailing 3-1 in the seventh, the Barons put together a five-run rally in the seventh. A T.J. McCants bases-loaded double tied the game, Bonemer’s walk gave Birmingham the lead, and Anthony DePino added some insurance with a two-run single.

The Barons’ bullpen performed well on the day, with four relief pitchers — Nick Altermatt, Jacob Heatherly, Phil Fox, and Jackson Kelley — recording scoreless appearances.
