This season hasn’t been relatively easy for DeMar DeRozan at the Sacramento Kings.

As the prized acquisition by the franchise from last year’s offseason, DeMar DeRozan seized high hopes about competing at the highest level with the Sacramento Kings. But since then, it’s been a rocky experience at his side.

DeRozan saw plenty of bumps and struggles with the Kings, ultimately witnessing several major changes within the organization. It all started in December when the team dismissed Mike Brown from his head coaching duties in a controversial fashion.

As such, De’Aaron Fox also parted ways and secured his wish to get traded to the San Antonio Spurs after the star point guard turned down the possibility of extending his ties to the franchise out of his winning desire.

DeMar DeRozan makes history, enters the NBA’s 25K-point club

Out of the huge turn of events across the Kings all season long, DeRozan finds himself in disappointing spot in his first year as a King.

Nevertheless, he still has plenty of reasons to celebrate about his current career and position as he recently attained an incredible NBA milestone.

On March 20, DeRozan landed another key achievement in his case to become a future Hall of Famer as he eclipsed 25,000 career points in the Kings’ 128-116 victory against the Chicago Bulls.

DeRozan, who finished with 22 points against his former team, nailed a signature mid-range jumper during the 1:55 mark of the third quarter that propelled him to enter the 25K point club.

DeRozan is thankful to clinch a new individual milestone in his career

Widely regarded as one of the purest scorers in league history, DeRozan further stamped his legacy with this feat as he becomes the 27th player in NBA history to deliver 25,000 career points.

As such, he joins LeBron James, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, and Stephen Curry amongst active players who reached the milestone.

Right at his postgame, the star swingman is simply blessed about the latest accomplishment that puts his name on the league record books.

“It’s always an honor,” DeRozan said. “It’s an honor, period, to be able to play this game at a high level.

“My 16th year, being able to be recognized in the top whatever it is of scorers in this league. I’ve been a fan of this league since I was a kid.

“I have nothing but love and respect for all the people who came before and all the people who go through the league, and to be able to be mentioned in any type of history in this league is an honor.”

Fully gratified after clinching a historic personal scoring accolade, DeRozan is pretty much motivated to get the job done and lead the Kings to the NBA Playoffs as they are the current Western Conference’s No. 9 seed (35-34).

With Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis, they will look to make some noise and insert themselves in the league’s playoff picture for next month.
