Evan Mobley praises Cleveland Cavaliers teammate for being a ‘Swiss Army knife‘ to stop Tyler Herro in Game 3

The Cleveland Cavaliers pushed the Miami Heat to the brink of elimination with a dominant 124-87 victory in Game 3, putting them up 3-0 in the first-round playoff series.

While several Cavaliers shined—including Jarrett Allen‘s 22-point, 10-rebound double-double and DeAndre Hunter’s 22 points off the bench—it was Max Strus who earned special recognition from teammate Evan Mobley.

Max Struss is like a Swiss Army knife on both ends

Max Strus delivered an efficient 18 points on 53.8% shooting, including four three-pointers, but his defensive impact proved equally valuable as he effectively neutralized Heat star Tyler Herro.

Under Strus’ smothering defense, Herro managed just 13 points on a dismal 38.5% shooting, connecting on only one three-pointer throughout the entire contest.

“He’s like a Swiss Army knife. Anything you ask him to do he’ll go out there and do it to his full capability,” Mobley praised after the game.

“Tonight he did a great job on Tyler Herro, just making it really difficult on him not letting touch the ball.”

“[He’s] just swarming them and being in the right spots at the right time and we need that from guys like that. Also offensively as well being productive,” Mobley added.

Defensive Player of the Year leads by example

Mobley, this season’s Defensive Player of the Year, also showcased his two-way ability with 19 points, one block, and one steal while anchoring Cleveland’s dominant defensive effort.

The Cavaliers’ well-rounded attack featured six players scoring in double figures, including Ty Jerome’s double-double with 12 points and 11 assists.

Their balanced offensive approach, combined with suffocating defense, has Miami searching for answers as they face elimination in Game 4.

Cleveland’s versatile roster of players who excel on both ends of the court has proven overwhelming for the Heat.

The 37-point blowout represents the Cavaliers’ most dominant playoff performance in years and signals they might be ready for a deep postseason run behind their multi-dimensional talent and stifling defense.
