BOSTON — Jaylen Brown shared a positive injury update after the Celtics’ practice on Saturday, noting that he’s trending toward 100% after battling a knee injury in the second half of the season.

“I think I’m starting to turn the curve,” Brown said. “Structurally, everything is fine. I’ve had some other stuff going on, but I think I’m kind of trending in the right direction.”

Brown had an elite first-round series, averaging 23 points on 49.4% shooting — including 44.4% from three and 84.4% from the line. His best game came in Game 2, in which he exploded for 36 points on 12-19 shooting with Jayson Tatum sidelined.

“He’s just been tremendous in all areas,” Mazzulla said after the series ended. “And again, he has the ability to take it to another level — mentally and physically.”

Jrue Holiday remains day-to-day after missing three games

Jrue Holiday, meanwhile, remains day-to-day with a right hamstring strain that held him out of the final three games of the first round of the playoffs.

Holiday practiced on Friday, as seen in a video clip the Celtics posted, and Joe Mazzulla had a positive injury update on him too.

“He was able to do everything that we worked on,” Joe Mazzulla said. “He’s getting better every day.”

The Celtics face the Knicks in Game 1 of the second round of the NBA playoffs on Monday, May 5th at 7pm ET.
