LA Lakers player who was waived before the Playoffs now set to quit NBA to play in Lithuania

The Los Angeles Lakers have all but wrapped up the offseason as their focus shifts to the start of the 2025-26 NBA season.

The Lakers had a relatively quiet start to their offseason, signing Jake LaRavia after losing Dorian Finney-Smith to the Houston Rockets.

However, things then picked up for Los Angeles as they addressed some of their biggest needs through the NBA’s buyout market, signing DeAndre Ayton and Marcus Smart.

With the Lakers starting lineup and roster completed, the team will try and contend in a loaded Western Conference led by Luka Doncic and LeBron James.

Cam Reddish to leave NBA for EuroLeague

The Lakers moved on from NBA free agent Cam Reddish after they waived him before the start of the playoffs to make room for the playoff-eligible Jordan Goodwin.

With Reddish unable to find a new home in the NBA, BasketNews is reporting that the 26-year-old wing is in advanced talks to sign with BC Siaulia, a Lithuanian basketball team.

The move comes as a surprise, as Reddish is still early in his career. However, injuries have hurt his development and he has been unable to stay on the court.

The most games he has played in a single season in the NBA is 58, which came during his rookie year with the Atlanta Hawks.

Cam Reddish’s stats with LA Lakers

After stints with the Hawks, New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers, Reddish made his way to the Lakers when the team signed him in the summer of 2023.

In his first season with the Lakers, he averaged just 5.4 points in 48 games played.

The following season he appeared in only 33 games and averaged 3.2 points per contest.

He was mostly used in a primary defensive role for the Lakers with his offensive production dramatically dipping.

Reddish, who was a former college star for the Duke Blue Devils, was the No. 10 overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft.
