Up next, as that story plays out, is the Nike LeBron 23 “Masked Menace,” as a retailer’s marketing materials might have provided us an early look.

In his final season in Miami, James wore all-carbon-fiber facial protection after suffering a broken nose, felling the New York Knicks in his injury return to the tune of 31 points on incredibly efficient shooting. That this moment would come back as part of this career retrospective isn’t necessarily a surprise.

With how much the LeBron 23 has played with texture to this point, pinning carbon fiber on the LeBron 23 “Masked Menace” seems like an obvious design choice, but perhaps Nike is opting for a “silent assassin” concept instead.
