The sneaker, officially called the SKX Reign “Foreman,” takes inspiration from wheat-colored Timberland boots, both a symbol of NYC street fashion and the grit that defines the character of Knicks fans. The Knicks adopted a new tradition under Mike Brown this season, awarding a hard hat, work-site vest, and pair of Timberland 6″ Boots to the Defensive Player of the Game after wins. As one of the best defensive wings in the NBA and a crucial cog in the Knicks’ defensive scheme, OG has been a common selection; he earned NBA All-Defensive Second Team honors this year, though we’d argue he got robbed of a first team nod.
Buttery yellow synthetics lay the foundation, while yellow and red rope cables around the heel make the Timberland connection blatant. The heel and Skechers logos come in black, while gum traction lands at the heel portion of the outsole.
