The UConn men’s basketball program had more roster news on Wednesday as guards Jacob Furphy and Uros Paunovic reportedly entered the transfer portal.
Furphy, a former top-100 prospect out of the NBA Global Academy in Australia, suffered an ankle injury early in the season and only appeared in 14 games, averaging just 2.4 minutes. He played a season-high six minutes in a November blowout win over Bryant, scoring two points with a steal, and finished the year with six total points on 3-for-7 shooting from the field.
Furphy was a player the Huskies were high on coming in after his run with Australia in the FIBA U19 World Cup, but it would take some development for him to solidify a spot in the rotation.
Paunovic, a junior who was a late addition from Serbia, also appeared in 14 games but never saw more than three minutes of action. He finished the year with only two shot attempts, going 1-for-2 with two rebounds and an assist in 15 total minutes.
They are the third and fourth Huskies from the 2025-26 roster to have entered the portal, joining freshmen Eric Reibe, the Huskies’ second-string center, and Rrezon Elezaj, another international 7-footer who didn’t see much playing time.

As of Wednesday afternoon, UConn has only had two players announce they are returning in point guard Silas Demary Jr. and wing Jayden Ross, both rising seniors. They will welcome a pair of incoming freshmen ranked in the top-50 nationally in wing Colben Landrew and guard Junior County.
The Huskies, active in the transfer portal, are still awaiting decisions from Jaylin Stewart, Solo Ball and Braylon Mullins, along with Jacob Ross.
