Reebok Continues Performance Hoops Comeback With The Engine A 26

When it comes to the revitalization of Reebok Basketball, most of the attention goes to the Angel Reese 1; understandable given it relates to one of women’s sports’ biggest stars and their first signature shoe since Shaq & AI. However, the Engine A marked the imprint’s real comeback effort, foregrounding ERS cushioning on an all-new design, enjoying a successful “rookie season” as the performance journey began anew.

Reebok has just announced the second chamber of the Engine story, passing down word on the follow-up: the Reebok Engine A 26. One of the Boston brand’s foremost men’s endorsees, Matas Buzelis, highlights the “evolution” in his comments on the model, and it’s the right descriptor overall. You can trace the general silhouette of the Engine proper in this sequel, though the overhaul in the midsole is equally evident; a glossy SuperFloat POD in the forefoot pairs with that patented ERS system for a dual-density cushioning setup. The upper sees its own set of changes, as the branching synthetic containment gives way to a wrap-around mesh, while herringbone traction underfoot gets its own revamp.

For this initial delivery, the Reebok Engine A 26 queues up three colorways. First is a hypnotic “Cheetah” with gold interplay on the branding and lateral sidewalls, followed by a vibrant “Atomic Tangerine/Digital Lime” that highlights that mismatch air. Rounding out is a classic white/black, though “Energy Red” interruptions and a tropical teal sole unit add can’t-miss flair.

The Reebok Engine A 26 releases on  February 27th in all three colorways; the “White/Black/Energy Red” clocks in at $120, while the other two editions command a $130 retail price.
