Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been named the 24-25 NBA Most Valuable Player, receiving 71 out of 100 First Place votes and 29 Second Place votes. Nikola Jokic finished second with 29 First Place votes and 71 other Second Place votes. Gilgeous-Alexander finished second in MVP voting behind Jokic last season. Jokic has now finished first or second in five consecutive seasons.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum and Donovan Mitchell rounded out the top-5. LeBron James finished sixth ahead of Cade Cunningham, Anthony Edwards and Stephen Curry.
Gilgeous-Alexander joins Kevin Durant (2014) and Russell Westbrook (2017) as members of the Oklahoma City Thunder who have won MVP.
