After following up back-to-back national titles with 24 wins, a first-round NCAA Tournament victory and a hard-fought loss to the eventual national champs, UConn men’s basketball couldn’t crack the final AP Top 25 poll.

The Huskies finished on the outside looking in of the final poll on Tuesday, landing in the 29th overall spot, fourth in the ‘others receiving votes’ category.

It’s the first time UConn hasn’t been ranked in the final AP poll since 2021.

The Huskies finished the season 24-11, third in the Big East standings at 14-6.

Drake (122 votes), Oregon (105), Illinois (80) and UConn (76) were the first teams on the outside looking in.

Florida (36-4) finished No. 1 after defeating Houston, 65-63 in Monday’s national championship game. The Gators came from behind in the second half to win in four of their six NCAA Tournament games, and beat UConn, 77-75, in the second round after trailing for much of the second half.

UConn finished ranked below Louisville (21), Clemson (22) and Memphis (25), all of whom lost in the tournament’s first round.

Houston finished second in the poll, followed by Duke, Auburn, Tennessee and Alabama.

St. John’s (11th) was the only Big East team ranked in the final poll.
